Our Program

New Horizons

Welcome to New Horizons, an empowering program designed to guide individuals on a
transformative journey towards improved mental health, personal development, and
independence. Offered three times a year, this program represents a four-month commitment
dedicated to equipping participants—affectionately known as “Joeys”—with essential life skills,
coping mechanisms, and resources to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.

Comprehensive Support

Throughout the duration of the program, our Joeys embark on a holistic approach to self-
improvement, facilitated by a dedicated team of professionals. Here’s what our comprehensive
program entails:

Mental Health Counseling Sessions:

Experienced counselors provide personalized support and guidance, addressing individual mental health needs in a safe and confidential environment.

Life Skills Development:

Practical workshops and hands-on activities empower Joeys with essential life skills, including communication, time management, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

Coping Skills Training:

Participants learn effective coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other
mental health challenges, enabling them to navigate life’s ups and downs with
resilience.

Financial Coaching:

 Financial experts offer guidance on budgeting, saving, debt management, and financial planning, empowering Joeys to take control of their financial well-being.

Job Coaching and Career Development:

Our job coaches provide personalized assistance with resume building, job search
strategies, interview preparation, and career exploration, helping Joeys pursue
meaningful employment opportunities.

Additional Resources and Support:

From access to support groups and community resources to educationalworkshops and recreational activities, New Horizons offers a wealth of resources
to support Joeys on their journey to personal growth and independence.

Expert Guidance: Our Program is led by experienced mental health professionals dedicated to your growth

Requirements to Apply
  • Must be a Florida resident
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  •  Must want to feel better and improve overall quality of life
  • Participants will be referred to as a “Joey” to protect identity
  • Commitment to participation: Applicants must be willing to commit to actively participate in the program for the 16 weeks by attending scheduled appointments, sessions, and engaging in recommended interventions or treatment modalities
  • Agreement to Program Policies: Applicants may be required to review and agree to guidelines, including confidentiality requirements, code of conduct, and expectations for participant behavior
  • Consent for Treatment: Applicants may need to provide informed consent for receiving Health services including understanding the nature of services offered, potential risks and benefits, confidentiality policies, and their rights as participants.
  • Medical History and Record: Applicants may be asked to provide relevant medical history and records including information about previous mental health diagnosis , treatments, medications, and any co-occurring medical conditions
  • Emergency Contact Information: Applicants may need to provide emergency contact information in case of mental health crisis or other urgent situations during their participation in the program

well-being of our community members. We understand that suicide prevention is a
critical issue that requires collective efforts and resources. That’s why we offer a range
of suicide prevention resources to support individuals and families in times of need.
